The Cyprus Centre of Theatre for Children and Young People – ASSITEJ Cyprus serves as the national centre of Cyprus within ASSITEJ International, a global network present in more than 80 countries, dedicated to the performing arts for children and young people.

Since its establishment in 2021, ASSITEJ Cyprus has been supporting the development of theatre for young audiences by strengthening artistic creation, audience development, and the international networking of Cypriot artists. Today, it comprises more than 255 members, including theatres, groups, and professionals.

The Centre implements significant initiatives such as the Mitsikouri International Festival and actively participates in European and international programmes, offering opportunities for production, professional development, and mobility. At the same time, it promotes access to culture for all children.

With a strong social orientation and international presence, ASSITEJ Cyprus works to uphold every child’s right to participate in cultural life.
