NECTARIOS THEODOROU

Nectarios Theodorou graduated from the School of Dramatic Arts Iasmos in Athens. He holds a postgraduate degree in physical theater based on the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq, from the London International School of Performing Arts, for which he won a scholarship from the A.G. Leventis Foundation. He participated in physical theater seminars in England, Poland and the Czech Republic with the groups "Imitating the Dog", "Song of the Goat" and "Farm in the Cave".

Nominated for the Best Actor Award at the THOC Awards 2014-2015, for his role in the play The 39 Steps by John Buncan and Alfred Hitchcock, and he won the Best Movement Direction Award for his work in the musical The Madam's Family.

 He has more than 40 theatre productions under his belt. He collaborated with theatrical groups and organizations such as: Regional Theatre of Kozani, Paravan Productions, Theatre Versus, Open Arts, Artitude Group, Dionysus Theater, Persona Theatre Company, Fantastic Theater, Solo gia treis, THOC etc. He starred in plays such as: Andronikos or the Painter directed by Maria Karsera, Odyssevach directed by Kostas Filippoglou, 39 Steps directed by Marios Mettis, Fortunato the Cypriot directed by Magdalena Zira, The cripple of Inishmaan directed by Lukasz Wisniewski, The night is the mother to the day directed by Yannis Iordanidis, Electra and Orestes, the trial directed by Hannan Snir, Samia directed by Evi Gavrielidis etc. He toured the UK with the Concert Theater (Romeo & Juliet directed by An Ting & Russel Bender) and appeared at Sadler's Wells in West End with the Normal Love dance theater (Normal Love directed by Zi Ling). As a movement director he collaborated with Theater Lexi and Scala Theatre for the productions of Kastanomalloussa and La Nonna directed by Nikos Nikolaou. Founding member of the Off-Balance Physical Theater Company operating in England and Scandinavia. On television he starred in CyBC’s series Kypriotika Skets and Kamomata j'aromata directed by Nikos Theophanous, and in the Alpha series Karma directed by Nastazia Christodoulou. Other credits include the short films, “The call” by Marios Psarras, “Petra” by Andreas Avgousti and “Come out of your head” by Christina Georgiou, and the feature films "The impressions of a drowned man" by Kyros Papavassiliou, and "Clementine" by Longinos Panayi. He is one of the faces of the Heineken global campaign for 2014. He lends his voice to CyBC’s radio productions.
