Sofia Ioannou

Sofia graduated from Paphos Music school specialising in piano and singing. She then studied Music Theatre at UCLan (BA, 2019) and also has an MA in Musical Theatre performance at Mountview Academy of Dramatic Arts(2020). She was a member of UCLan’s Musical Theatre society and took the role of Musical Director and Assistant Director for several projects such as Grease(2018) and Addams family (2019). During her studies, she collaborated with directors and choreographers from the West End and took part in several Musicals and plays such as: Legally Blonde, Into the woods, Children of Eden, Closer than Ever, Flower Cutters, Twelfth Night, Clickbait. As a professional actor she took part in the one woman musical ‘Girl in a crisis’, directed by Sara Patsalidou, at the Nicosia International Festival 2021. She has also toured kindergartens in Cyprus with the puppetry show ‘Metaxoulis’ (2021-2022). She was part of THOC’s production ‘Cat on a hot tin roof’, directed by Paris Erotokritou(2023), playing the role of Dr.Baugh. In 2023, she participated in the workshop ‘The relationship between the actor and the Director’ led by Athina Kasiou and Antonia Charalambous, and was chosen to perform at Fengaros Music Village 2023 with the Student Collective. Since 2022, she teaches Musical Theatre at Maria Chrysostomou school of music and Theatre to children from the ages of 3, up to teenagers and adults. For the school, she has also choreographed and taught for the musical Encanto, in which she also participated as an actor(2023, Nicosia Municipal Theatre).
