MITSIKOURI FEST
1ST MITSIKOURI INTERNATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
The official programme of the 1st Mitsikouri Performing Arts Festival for Children and Young People was announced on Tuesday, September 10th. The Festival, organized by ASSITEJ Cyprus, will feature 11 theatre, dance and music productions for children from 10 different countries: The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Lithuania, Ireland, United Kingdom, Greece, Iceland and Finland. The programme includes performances for all ages of children, from 0 to 18 years old.
The Festival’s aim is to introduce the Cypriot public to contemporary trends in the field of performing arts for children internationally, as well as to offer moments of emotion, magic and laughter for the whole family. With inclusion as the theme of this first edition, most of the productions will be non-verbal, making them accessible to every child.
The performances will be presented in seven different venues in Nicosia, Limassol and Lefkara.
The Festival will also feature a rich parallel programme with workshops, discussions and lectures. The parallel activities will be targeted towards children, parents, professionals, as well as teachers and will be officially presented in the coming days.
The logo of the event has been designed by the distinguished Cypriot artist George Tsangaris.
