Zoe Giorgalli is a choreographer and dance educator based in Nicosia. She is Vice President of the Nea Kinisi Dance Company, Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus, and an active member of ASSITEJ Cyprus – the Cyprus Centre of Theatre for Children and Young People.
She is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, holding a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre and an MA in Dance Performance. She also holds a Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning from Trinity College London. As an educator and choreographer, her aim is to engage as many people as possible with the art of dance, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, creativity, and imagination. Her work focuses on developing performative projects and experiential workshops for parents and children of preschool and school age.
Through her participation in residency programmes such as “More than Dancing” and “Beyond DisDance”, she continues to develop her artistic and educational practices, creating cultural activities specifically designed for children and families. As an educator, she has created the creative movement workshop programme “Move Together” for children and parents, the educational programme “The Imagination Lab” for kindergartens, and has toured primary schools with the educational dance performance “Where Two Lines Meet.”
She has collaborated with and delivered creative workshops in kindergartens, primary schools, Dance House Lefkosia, the State Gallery Majestic, the Limassol Theatre Museum, and many other institutions. As a dance teacher, she teaches at The English School in Nicosia and has recently served as a Lecturer in Contemporary Dance Technique and Choreographic Practice and Analysis at the University of Nicosia.
As a choreographer, Zoe focuses on interactive experiences for the whole family. Her works, including “Lead the Way”, “Tip-Toe-Tap”, “Where Two Lines Meet”, “Move Together”, and “Choro-Graphia”, have been presented at festivals such as Mitsikouri, Beyond DisDance, On Bodies, and the Summer Dance Festival, as well as at Dance House Lefkosia, the State Gallery Majestic, and in kindergartens and primary schools.
