
Eleni Anastasiou
Vice President
Dr. Eleni Anastasiou is a director, drama educator, and researcher, holding a degree from the Department of Theatre of the School of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As a researcher, she has presented papers on Cypriot theatre at conferences organised by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Cyprus, Frederick University, and other academic institutions.
She has directed performances in collaboration with leading theatre organisations in Cyprus, including: Keffiyeh (ANTILOGOS, 2026), Taking a Stand (Alpha Square, 2025), The Little Prince (Satiriko Theatre, 2025), Out of the Box (ANTILOGOS, 2025), The Wizard of Oz (Satiriko Theatre, 2024), A Love Story (THOC, 2024), The Entire Bible in One Hour (ANTILOGOS, 2024), NOEL (2023), Biomageia (2022), Lullabies of the World, among others.
She has also written and directed original works such as PS CYPRUS (2024), Under/pants (2021), I Mean I Was Just a Child (2019), and 30’ Orestes – Ismene (Little Festival of Ancient Drama, 2016). In recent years, she has been actively engaged in theatre for children and young people, founding in Cyprus the suitcase theatre group INTRA PORTAS, which presents performances within school settings, addressing themes such as bullying, racism, acceptance, and other social issues, while collaborating with educators and organisations on theatre-in-education and arts education programmes.
Since 2024, she has been a facilitator in the educational programme “In the Land of Rights” by the Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights. She serves as Vice President of the Cyprus Centre of Theatre for Children and Young People – ASSITEJ Cyprus and is a board member of the Cyprus Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI).
Her work focuses on connecting theatre with education, children’s rights, and the exploration of social issues through participatory and applied theatre practices, while also exploring ways to integrate inclusion and accessibility both in performance and in audience engagement.
